Agriculture is the way of life of the people of many countries in the world. Therefore, implementation of sustainable agricultural practices, which is being practiced as the organic farming, must be implemented. Places where sustainable agricultural practices are carried out can be used as agro-tourism, research site, place of internship, resource centre and a training centre. In the context of a commune like Pathik Foundation (School), sustainable agriculture has to be practiced for collective living.
Any method of farming may be seen as part of an agricultural system. Agricultural “inputs” mainly include seeds, water, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, and livestock which are introduced to the ‘plant’: the buildings, machinery, and land. The ‘output’ is the produce of the farm. Sustainable agriculture is a method of agriculture that attempts to ensure the profitability of farms while preserving the environment.
Collective living includes structurally separate and independent places of abode that are intended for habitation by large groups of individuals or several households. Such quarters usually have certain common facilities, such as cooking and toilet installations, baths, lounge rooms or dormitories, which are shared by the occupants. Collective living quarters may be further classified into hotels, rooming houses and other lodging houses, institutions and camps.
A commune is voluntary sharing of a way of life by a group of people who believe that they can live better together than they can alone. In a commune, the welfare of the group is more important than the comfort of the individual.
Agriculture is the basis for collective living, as practiced since the ancient time. It builds a common feeling among the members living together. As we are being affected by the inorganic materials spreading around us, organic agriculture should be practiced. Such practice not only contributes to the good human health but will be a major part of income generation for the community.
We observe all over the world, that there is extraordinary disorder and confusion both in the material world and the psychological world. Seeing this, one wanders why there is such disorder. Technologically one may sound good, with well facilitated house, with proper savings of money etc. But life is in chaos everywhere. Throughout history man has tried different way of living to pass all these agony. Humanity has been separated many religious groups, cult, and community and following rituals and dogmas for solution of this problem. Capitalism, Communism, and many other systems have not become successful to solve problems. All government setups are turning to be corrupt and irresponsible. Similarly every family has the same kind of tension in their relationship. It looks that humanity is suffering in great darkness and turning hopeless. It looks that humanity has forgotten the basic language of living. It has missed the way of being educated for living and understanding life. Man is walking on head and seeing everything distorted. If we trace the history of human life, we find that man also lived a better life. Now we have to back to revive that golden life and its structure. This is Collective Living.
